Advising for Future Ready Careers
On Wednesday, February 24, 2021 the Georgia School Counselor Association welcomed presenters Dr. Jasmine Bowers, Dr. Sanethia Thomas, Dr. Tiffanie Smith, Angela Cleveland, Christy Conley, Bryan Cox, and Lien Diaz for a members webinar, "Advising for Future Ready Careers for ALL Students: School Counselors are Key Allies for Equity and Access to Broaden Participation in Computing." In this webinar we hear directly from national and state-level advocates along with industry leaders working to close the opportunity gap and create individual and systemic change to remove barriers and create more equitable educational and career pathways to ALL careers as computer science is changing every industry.

Creating a Student Ambassador Program
On Wednesday December 2, 2020 the Georgia School Counselor Association welcomed presenters Monica Crenshaw & Shatarra Brown. This webinar teaches counselors how to create a control group separate from other student leadership organizations such as Student Council, as well as identify potential setbacks with Admin and the sponsors of the other student leadership groups. On Wednesday November 18, 2020 the Georgia School Counselor Association welcomed presenter Ariel Harrison. This webinar teaches school counselor educators who are tasked with the responsibility of ensuring that students possess the knowledge, abilities, and skills of multicultural competence. Using strategies that encourage both self-exploration and self-evaluation can be especially important when helping students to respond to and engage with cultural content in articles and textbooks.
