2024 Georgia School Counselor of the Year and Other Award Recipients

The Georgia School Counselor Association (GSCA) has announced the winner for the 2024 School Counselor of the Year awards Program. Please join us in congratulating Mi'esha Reynolds as the 2024 GSCA School Counselor of the Year!

The award honors exemplary school counseling professionals who devote their careers to serving as advocates for the nation’s students, helping them achieve success in school and in life.

GSCA is delighted to announce all the 2024 award recipients:

  • Georgia School Counselor of the Year: Mi'esha Reynolds, Gwinnett County Public Schools, Meadowcreek Elementary School
  • School Counselor of the Year Semi-Finalist: Shanna Rae Mitchell-Jones, Unity Grove Elementary, Henry County Schools
  • School Counselor of the Year Semi-Finalist: Corban Cofer, North Gwinnett High School, Gwinnett County Public Schools 
  • School Counselor of the Year Semi-Finalist: Laura Potts, Campbell High School, Cobb County School District
  • Emerging Leader: Joycelyn White, Bibb County Schools, Weaver Middle School
  • Supervisor/Administrator of the Year: Kassia Sutton, Gwinnett County Public Schools, Norcross Elementary School
  • Business Partner:  (tie) Gwinnett Foundation and Sugar Hill Church, both Gwinnett County Public Schools
  • Writer of the Year:  Dr. Heather Alvira, Gwinnett County Public Schools, Office of Counseling, College and Career Services
  • Lifetime Achievement:  Dianne Acuña Andree and Julie Hartline
